Kos Island

KOS ISLAND
Kos itself is famous for being the birthplace of medicine. Hippocrates, the father of medicine lived and taught there, and doctors of the world over still take the Hippocrates oath on reaching their professional status. The ruins of the famous Asklepion, one of the world's first hospitals, make a fascinating visit. Also there are ancient ruins all over the place in Kos island.

KOS TOWN
Kos town itself is both a resort and a working port. Palm trees fringe the harbourside and beaches with the old Crusader fortress standing watch over the bustling streets and lively lightlife. It's an attractive town and the main departure points for ferries and hydrofoils to surroundings islands and Turkey.
